PLANT NATURE:

Neela avuri requires fertile soil and shelter from hot winds. Branches should be cut 10–20 cm above ground level when the plants are 4–5 months old.

SEASONS:

It is a bush that can grow up to 2 meters tall and can be annual, biennial, or perennial depending on the climate. . The best time to plant neeli avuri (Indigofera tinctoria), also known as the indigo plant, is in September or October. The flowers bloom 2–3 months after sowing.

PLANT TYPE:

Neeli avuri, also known as indigo powder, is a natural dye made from the leaves of the indigo plant. It's a popular hair dye that can give hair a black color, and is also known as black henna.

The leaves were once the most common natural dye for coloring fabrics a deep blue.  In Ayurveda, neela avuri is used to treat a variety of conditions, including asthma, epilepsy, gout, and abdominal illness.  It can also be used to improve scalp health and reduce scalp irritation.

STORAGE INSTRUCTION:

          Store in an airtight jar, in a cool and dry place and away from direct sunlight.
