PLANT TYPE:

It is a small herbaceous plant prized for its cooling properties. The leaves are small, bright green, linear and smooth edged, typically low to the ground in a basal rosette. The entire herb, including root and tender leaves are used in traditional medicine.

SEASON: 
It is an annual herb that grows low to the ground, often forming a carpet-like mat or branching tufts. it thrives in open, sunny habitats, wastelands, cultivated fields and dry river beds.

PLANT NATURE:

The plant prefers sandy to loamy soils but is highly adaptable. It often grows in slightly moist but well drained soils frequently appearing in the outskirts of tropical and subtropical regions of India and Srilanka. It is highly prolific during and immediately after the rainy season, when sufficient moisture allows the seeds to germinate rapidly. Its complete vegetative and flowering life cycle takes place during the wetter monsoon months in regions like Tamilnadu,

TRADITIONAL VALUES:

It is traditionally used to reduce body heat, treat urinary troubles, and cure digestive issues. The laves are sometimes ground with milk for postpartum care or easing muscle cramps. In short it is referred as a coolant plant.

STORAGE INSTRUCTION:

          Store in an airtight jar, in a cool and dry place and away from direct sunlight.
